MISS PHILIPPINES PIA WURTZBACH IS MISS UNIVERSE 2015

Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach is Miss Universe 2015. After 42 long years, the most coveted crown in Philippine pageantry has finally gotten its way back to the Philippines. Pia surely had won many many hearts of the Filipino people and many other pageant enthusiast in the world.

Personally, I have watched the live streaming and rooted for Miss Philippines, Colombia, Indonesia, Japan, Venezuela, Malaysia, Australia, USA, Italy, Puerto Rico as my Top Ten based on their performances during the preliminary.

However, during the coronation night particularly on the question and answer I thought it would be between Miss USA and Miss Philippines as both girls has very appealing answer to me and thought Miss Colombia would have landed third place.

THE CONTROVERSIAL CROWNING MOMENT

When Miss Colombia was announced as the winner, I was so disappointed and even regarded that the show would have been a "cooking show". However, when Steve came back stage and appologised of course the house went wild.

It was a good thing Steve went back up and rectified and announced the real winner on the spot as he learned his mistake. It was a mistake and just everyone of us, we commit mistake. No perfect human was ever born. What matters most is the way we react on those mistake eventhough it means humilating ourselves. Steve owned the mistake and corrected it right at the moment when he learned about it.

SHARED CROWN?

NO! Those ladies has worked so hard and sacrificed so much just for them to be at their best and with high hopes in winning the most prized crown.

I strongly disagree with Trump for his comment of having two ladies winning the pageant. It was a mistake and the person committed the mistake has asked appology. I think that should be the end of it. We dont go to as far as having a shared crown. Let the true winner have what she deserves.

Should this happen the other way around I will still stand that there will only be one winner.

BITTER CANDIDATE?

Sorry you didnt win better luck next time!

CONGRATULATION PIA! The confidence and the attitude you have displayed made you the winner!

Night Market in Cavite

A newly opened mall in Cavite finaly took the courage to have its own version of a night market where food is simply everywhere. Food Porn at its finest in a Molino Cavite as a food addict like me can simply pick and dine.

All Home, a newly openned mall along Daang Hari going to Alabang welcome the idea of "Bancheto" just like the one you find in Taguig where food enthusiast can finally find a place of good food in one place at night.

WHAT ARE THE PROS?

1. Convenient for owls like me as I am most of the time asleep during the day time and wide awake at night (due to the nature of my job).

2. The management is very particular to its cleanliness which is a good thing.

3. Stall owners that I have spoken to are really friendly and accomodating which is a plus for them since they are in food and hospitality business.

WHAT ARE THE NOT SO GOOD SIDE?

1. Centralized CASHIERING POLICY is really inconvenient. A customer would need to go around the stalls which is a little lengthy pick the food they want and then get a reciept and then go all the way to the entrance to pay only to find out that the line is terrible long. After paying a customer would need to go back to a stall to surrender the food stab and claim the food. I think the organizers would have to make sure that the stalls owner will pay their dues thats why they'd have to do it. It is time consuming. Let the stall owners pay a rent instead of having a centralized cashier.

2. Scarcity of tables is also a problem. After paying for the food and waiting for it to be cooked you'd have to wait for a table or just go at a sidewalk to eat.

3. Cashiers and the rest of the staff need to be trained in handling customer. The cashiers dont smile and really snobbish. They are not also very helpful.

4. Price. Most stalls there doesnt fit the price. Only the stalls mentioned below fits the price. The rest I would suggest you buy somewhere else.

5. Overall I give them a 2 stars.

WHO WINS MY TASTE BUDS?

1. BRIBS (BABY BACK RIBS IN BBQ SAUCE) is a must try! I love the tenderness of the meat. I also love the Barbecue Sauce. The meat is subtle easy to chew and restaurant quality. The price is definitely friendly considering the quality of the meat they serve. The saleslady is also very much accomodating and really friendly and very much accomodating. She has the understanding of what good customer service is. They have restaurants located at A. Bonifacio, Prinza, Gen. Trias, 4107 Cavite.

2. VICTORIA'S specializes in Burgers and Sausages. I tried their Bacon Cheese Burgers and I must say I am at AWE. I simply just love thier burgers. The burger patty definitely is a win for me. Also their mayo is deliciously awesome! I love it. I hate mayo but they are able to blend well in the burger patty. Its juicy and definitely mind blowing. I just wish though that they'd have a thicker patty. The price is also very much friendly.

So far this are the only food stalls that passed my taste buds... I will update more if if there's more stalls that passes my taste buds.

Tips on what not to buy? All Mexican type of food, cakes, and some of the barbecue stalls. They are terrible. The taste doesnt match the price.

Its Christmas

Here we go again! The holiday season! The Season of Thanksgiving and the Season of Joy.

Though it is already December and we just had two typhoons that struck the Philippines my home country and devastated some provinces. It is pretty unusual to have typhoons at this time of the year and so this is pretty much an evidence that the world is indeed changing dramatically.

Looking back to my 2015, I found this year a whirlwind of life events. A magnificient reminder of me to take things slow.

When typhoon Nona is caressing the beautiful islands of Visayas and great mountains of Norther and Central Luzon, I happen to stumble upon a facebook post from a friend that she shared in her facebook wall. I have decided to share it myself as it looks like an epitome of what I really wanted to accomplish in the years to come.

I am not fun of writing a new years resolution so I have decided to simple share this facebook post that I shared as it is my inspiration for the years to come.

I must agree it is a challenge but still I wanted to meditate this to be better for myself and become a better leader.

Expectation can end almost everything. A good relationship gone soar if either of the parties envolved expects too much. Expectations should only be an inspiration to help the recipient and not to discredit and manipulate his/her situation. As a leader, this will be my mantra, to use the expectations I have to slowly guide people to become better of what they have and not to overwhelm and over throw them.

Sometimes, in the midst of a chaotic situation and emotional malfunction, the hardest thing to do is smile. Unknowingly, the only solution amidst all these is a smile. I have heard that the best thing to do the moment you open your eyes is to smile beautifully by thinking some happy thoughts occured in the past. I know it will be challenging to smile despite grave circumstances but there's nothing to loose when you smile.

Thinking, very basic and yet sometimes is neglected. It is true, let this be my mantra to always think but not over think before openning my mouth and before writing.

One good thing for me though is I am not a quiter. So the last part of the picture is easy as eating chocolate for me. I seldom quit. I only quit if I have exhausted everything that I have.

So... lets see if I am able to live by this mantra before my end of the road.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE AND HAVE A JOYOUS HOLIDAY SEASON AND A PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!

The Dreamer

They say that dream big so when you fall at least it may not be the highest you'd fall on the next one. This for sure has been my inspiration everyday. I keep trying to reach for the galactic stars, I dream the seemingly imposible.

When I was in college, knowing the fact that I am a country boy very naive of the ins and outs of the bigger city like Metro Manila and yet I dreamed that one day I will become one of the CEO of some of the biggest corparation worldwide.

Somehow, it seemd unreachable. I crawled up from working on the countryside upto the big city. Oppurtunities are countless. But I keep aiming for the corporate world. I am still trying the hardest to climb up the ladder of the corporate setting.

For me, life is about dreaming and achieving. Life is like a billiard game. One sets and the other starts the break sets. Once the ball is hit, everything is scathered bouncing and some making it into the hole. Once a set break is in place, theres nothing else we could do but to watch how it ends.

A dreamer decides how it ends. Slowly each ball will make it into the hole. Those are the achievements of the dreamer. A dreamer can simply make its way to either end it right away or slowly shooting each ball into the hole.

However, a dreamer achieves more and learn more if he chooses all nine ball one at a time. Life is a matter of dreaming and achieving.

Be a dreamer! Be an achiever! Merry Christmas everyone!

Filipina Singers at XFAXTOR UK 2015 - The Journey

4th Power as they are known in XFACTOR UK are simply making their own way up to the international stage. They are the four sisters of the Philippines with impressive vocal power and showmanship that you wont get bored watching them perform.

After competing in local competition to support their financial needs; these talented young ladies started competing in international scene. So here's a bit of their journey:

WCOPA CHAMPION 2013

They were known as the Golayan sisters representing the Philippines at the WCOPA 2013.

The following year in 2014 these talented young ladies tried to conquer the Korean Stage by joining South Korea's most prestigious show SUPERSTARK6. After their impressive audition singing Korean Song they got eliminated after making it through the TOP 8 of the competition. I am expecting it though as it wasnt their langauge they are most comfortable with but they made a great show on their performances.

I can say that 2015 is their biggest battle as these talented young ladies wanted to make a name in a bigger stage - THE UK XFACTOR Stage. With high hopes of making it to the finale of the compitation. Their audition is sweet and amazingly beautiful. To make it their they'd have to pull off all their years and years of experience to beat the pressure the show could bring. If theyll make it they might win the hearts of the UK populace and be known to the world. My question is.... will they be the next CHARICE! Lets find out and keep watching UK XFACTOR TO FIND OUT.

I must say that the 6 Chair Challenge is the most excrutiating, most painful, tear jerking, emotional, and above all NERVE RACKING part of the show. I can fill the pain from the contestant being booted out when you are already sitting as well as the judges frustration and pain seeing a contestant go a decision they have to make thinking theyll be hated for making that decision.

GOOD LUCK 4TH POWER/IMPACT MAKE THIS COUNT!

Beading a decoration

Over the week where I am super idles since I left my job. I noticed a destroyed table clock where it hasnt been used for a long time. So I decided to start creating my own masterpiece from a trash to something decorative.

I already started to add the beads but then I realized that I havent took a photo of the old table clock as a remembrance of how it looks like before recreating it to something that I can use.

After a painsticking adding all different kinds of beads. This is now how it looks like. An all new table decoration.

My next project is adding crystal beads on my curtain. So watch out for it.

Crystal Beaded Lampshade

Last year I bought a lampshade in Baclaran. Baclaran is where I buy some of my stuff as they are cheaper compared to its mall price. For my readers abroad, Baclaran is like a stretch of wet market, vendors sell their stuff in a store or at the street. This is where you can buy really cheaper things compared to its mall counter price. This are brandless stuff though and most are imitations.

So going back, I bought this cool chargeable lampshade which is very helpful during brownouts. Since i started beading I decided to add color and style to it so I covered it with crystal beads which are left overs when I started creating the full bead pouch.

Here's the end result of my FULL BEAD LAMPSHADE.

I am recreating a table clock. Stay tuned for the new creation.

Some Friendly Tips to Overseas Filipino Workers

If you ask a Filipino who is working abroad why they are enduring the pain of moving away from their family. You'd definitely hear almost the same answer, "its for the betterment of my families economic situation". This I would say fire my countrymen to do better in whatever they do in their respective work abroad. However, I am sad to say this could also be a trap towards their economic freedom.

For every OFW, when they are aboard the plane going to their country destination they have full of hopes and aspiration and determination to provide a better living to their family. Must I would guess that the following list are either on their top priority or at least in their list of hundreds of priority these are: food on families table, gadgets for the kids, housing and house repairs and the list goes onh:

For me, there's no problem in achieving all that but what should an OFW so that they wont waste their time abroad and secure their family future.

1. FAMILY MEMBERS UNDERSTANDING ON EXPENSES

Before leaving the Philippines you should make sure that you present your plan on how you handle your finances with your family member. Explain to them in detail as to how you are going to handle your salary. It should be very specific and it would depend on you as to how you should break it down. Here is my example given that I will be working abroad:

Family Expenses - 20% of salary this will cover city services and food.
Education - 20% to 30% of salary (this would depend if your child is in grade school or college)
Savings - 30% of salary should be placed in savings.
Your Personal Expenses - 10% of salary

You can of course make your own divition of expenses. I am sure you would know your own salary before even leaving the Philippines so practically you would know how you would devide your salary and stick with the family goal.

2. SAVING ACCOUNTS AND INTERNET BANKING CAPABILITY

SAVINGS ACCOUNT - make sure you open a bank account in a reputable banks and that it has internet banking capabilities.

Having an internet banking capability would allow you to ensure that you can deposit deposit a fraction of your salary to a savings account. Also having the internet banking capability would allow you to monitor your own money.

3. FREE OFF FROM DEBTS

Make sure that during the family discussion you would also discuss to them how you can pay off your debts. Also, let them understand to stay away from debts as possible.

Stick to your goal. Ofcourse you wanted to work abroad not only because you want to provide for your families immediate need but also to make sure you are preparing for your future.

4. LEARN HOW TO SAY NO

The tendency of Filipinos working abroad is to give everything to their family member. When we say family member it means to them providing for thier immediate family and extended family.

Birthday parties and gadgets are not a priority in life. You have to understand also that working abroad is not permanent. Time will come and you will have to come back. Everyone that I know after their life abroad they come home broke and that is what you should avoid.

Its not your obligation to provide for everyone rather it is your obligation to provide your love ones a better life and not an extravagant life.

That is why it is important to draw a line upto when can you provide as to how much you can give to your immediate and extended family. Let them understand that you also want to come home and spend more time with your family let them know that you wanna come home and not worrying that you are unable to pay your own medicine and electric bill.

5. INVESTMENTS

House is not an investment. Worry about beautifying or buying a house at a later date. When you are free of debts start building your mutual funds, start buying your health insurance, start investing in money making but not pyramiding or any other networking. I dont have againts it but better make sure that you have enough money in your mutual funds and that you have made sure you are invested for any health insurance. Then if you have extra then you can reconsider other stuff.

6. GIVE EACH FAMILY MEMBER A ROLE

For married OFW, encourage your spouse to help you in generating money. Example, paying of electric bills and everyday food. This way everyone has a role in building financial stability within the family.  Make sure your children understand and practice saving. In this way you can alot more money in preparing for your children's education.

If you are single, it is far way easier for you to build your own financial stability. All you need to worry is your parents well fair. If you have siblings that is still in college then you can help them but you also have to make it clear upto when can you provide.

I also would like to fill my life with positivity and best way for me to be positive is to be inspired. For this week, I have five inspirational quotes that can positively impact on how I see things.
